Center Launched CRS Mobile App for Births and Deaths: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a mobile application for seamless and hassle-free registration of birth and death at the click of a button.The Civil Registration System (CRS) mobile app, prepared by the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, is expected to significantly reduce the time required for the registration of birth and death.The app facilitates the registration of births and deaths, making the process seamless and hassle-free. Citizens can register at any time and from any location, using their State’s official language.The application is expected to reduce the time required for these registrations. This move is part of a larger effort to modernize government services through digital solutions.
2. Praveena Rai takes over as CEO and MD of Multi Commodity Exchange of India: Praveena Rai has appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD and CEO) of Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX).Her term as MD and CEO is set for five years.With over three decades of experience, Rai is a prominent figure in India’s financial sector, notably contributing to digital and strategic advancements.Prior to joining MCX, Rai served as chief operating officer at the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), where she played a key role in formulating business, operational, and technical strategies and shaping the organisation’s industry impact.
3. Ladakh Inaugurates First Polo Stadium at LG Cup: An important event took place in Ladakh. The Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra, inaugurated the 4th LG Horse Polo Cup 2024. This event was held at the Horse Polo Ground in Goshan Drass. It marked a celebration of polo, an important cultural sport in the region. During the event, the Lieutenant Governor unveiled Ladakh’s first Polo Stadium. This stadium is located in Goshan Drass. It is a landmark facility built for 6.84 crore rupees. The stadium aims to promote polo and provide a venue for local and national tournaments.
4. FSSAI Boosts E-Commerce Food Safety Regulations: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) announced new measures for e-commerce food delivery. This comes as India prepares for a surge in tourism from November to March. Increased surveillance aims to ensure food safety during this busy period. FSSAI has instructed state authorities to enhance the monitoring of e-commerce warehouses. The goal is to ensure that food delivered to consumers is safe. The agency emphasized the need for standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations and delivery personnel.

1. 18-Year-Old Nepal’s Nima Rinji Sherpa Conquered World’s 14 Highest Peaks: At just 18 years old, Nepal’s Nima Rinji Sherpa has achieved a milestone few have accomplished, becoming the youngest climber to reach all 14 of the world’s tallest mountains, known as the “eight-thousanders.”Mr Rinji’s journey culminated with the summit of Shishapangma, Nepal’s 8,027-metre peak, alongside climbing partner Pasang Nurbu Sherpa.
2. 2 November – International Day To End Impunity For Crimes Against Journalists: November 2 is observed as the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists.Proclaimed by the United Nations, this day focuses on addressing the urgent need to protect journalists and bring those who harm them to justice.It’s a day to stand up for the right to freedom of expression and to honor those who have lost their lives in the pursuit of truth.
3. 3 November – World Jellyfish Day: World Jellyfish Day is observed every year on 3 November.
This day raises awareness about these fascinating marine creatures known for their umbrella-shaped bodies and trailing tentacles.World Jellyfish Day was established in 2014 by marine biologists to raise awareness of the vital role jellyfish play in marine ecosystems.

1. Indian Army contingent departs for 9th India-Indonesia joint exercise GARUD SHAKTI 24 in Jakarta: The Indian Army contingent comprising 25 personnel departed for Jakarta to take part in the 9th edition of India-Indonesia Joint Special Forces Exercise GARUD SHAKTI 24.The Exercise will be conducted from 1st to 12th of this month.The Indian contingent is being represented by troops from The Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) and Indonesian contingent comprising 40 personnel is represented by Indonesian Special Forces Kopassus.The aim of the Exercise is to acquaint both the sides with each other’s operating procedures, enhance mutual understanding, cooperation and interoperability between the Special Forces of both armies.The Exercise is designed to develop bilateral military cooperation and strengthen bond between two armies through conduct of discussions and rehearsal of tactical military drills.
2. Indian Army contingent departs for 15th edition of India-US joint Exercise: The Indian Army contingent departed for the 15th edition of India-US joint Special Forces Exercise VAJRA PRAHAR.The exercise is scheduled to be conducted from 2 November to November 22 at the Orchard Combat Training Centre in Idaho, US.The last edition of the same exercise was conducted at Umroi, Meghalaya, in December last year.This will be the second exercise of the year between the Indian and the US Army. The previous exercise, YUDH ABHYAS 2024, was conducted in Rajasthan in September.The aim of Exercise VAJRA PRAHAR is to promote military cooperation between India and the US through enhancement of interoperability, jointness, and mutual exchange of special operations tactics. It will enhance combined capabilities in executing joint Special Forces operations in desert and semi-desert environments.
3. India-Bhutan Border ICP Inaugurated in Assam: The first Integrated Check Post (ICP) along the India-Bhutan border was inaugurated at Darranga, Assam. This event marked an important milestone in India-Bhutan relations. Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Bhutan’s Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay were present at the inauguration. An Integrated Check Post (ICP) is a facility that streamlines customs and immigration processes at international borders. It aims to facilitate trade and movement between countries. ICPs are designed to improve efficiency and reduce waiting times for goods and people crossing borders.
4. Poorvi Prahaar: India Launches Major Tri-Services Exercise: India is preparing for an important military exercise named ‘Poorvi Prahaar’. This tri-services event begins on November 8 and lasts for ten days. It involves the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The exercise aims to demonstrate operational readiness and enhance inter-service collaboration. The exercise follows the recent disengagement of Indian and Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh. This disengagement occurred at two key friction points – Depsang and Demchok. Ongoing negotiations aim to de-escalate troop presence in the region. The talks include discussions on restoring patrolling rights in the Yangtse area of the Tawang sector.

Mansi Ahlawat wins Bronze in women’s 59kg at Senior World Wrestling Championships: In Wrestling, India’s Mansi Ahlawat has clinched the bronze medal in the women’s 59kg category at the Seniors World Championships, in Tirana, Albania.Mansi defeated Laurence Beauregard of Canada, 5-NIL, in the bronze medal match.Risako Kinjo of Japan won the Gold, Tserenchimed Sukhee of Mongolia grabbed the Silver, while Elena Heike Brugger of Germany shared the Bronze with Mansi.
2. Krisha Verma clinches Gold Medal at U19 World Boxing Championships: India’s Krisha Verma clinched a gold medal at the U19 World Boxing Championships in Colorado, USA. Krisha defeated Lerika Simon of Germany 5-0 to win the gold medal.Chanchal Chaudhary, however, went down to Ruby White of England in the female 48kg category final as the Indian boxer was disqualified, forcing her to settle for the silver medal.

1. Zimbabwe Launches Second Satellite ZIMSAT-2: Zimbabwe successfully launched its second satellite, ZIMSAT-2. This event marks an important advancement in the country’s space programme. The launch took place from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia, following the deployment of Zimbabwe’s first satellite, ZimSat-1, in November 2022. ZIMSAT-2 is a low Earth observation satellite. It was launched aboard the Soyuz-2.1 spacecraft at 1 AM. The launch was a collaborative effort between the Zimbabwe National Geo-Spatial and Space Agency (ZINGSA) and Southwest State University in Russia.
